Тематические группы английских театральных терминов-неологизмов

Abstract

The aim of the article is to identify thematic groups of the modern theatre terminology. The selection of theatre terms (849 units) that appeared in the English language in 1990-2010 is analyzed. The special vocabulary of this sphere is a complex conceptual system which can be studied within the framework of the specifically designed multi-aspectual classification structure taking into account the origins and functions of theatre terms. Dividing words into thematic groups is connected with description of the theatre activity organization’s different aspects. The conducted study reveals the fact that the most numerous and actively replenished thematic groups of theatre terms are names of the lighting and sound equipment used in the performance production process; names of the stage scenery, technical facilities and methods; names of the stage structure; names of the theatre personnel; names of the theatre performance types and performance parts (listed in order of descending number of terms constituting the group). It is assumed that the new terms appearance is affected by extralinguistic factors. The study relevance is determined by the theoretical and practical importance of research in the terminology sphere that becomes particularly important in the period of intensive development of international relations

Статья посвящена выявлению тематических групп современной театральной терминологии. Проводится анализ выборки театральных терминов (849 единиц), появившихся в английском языке в период с 1990 по 2010 годы. Специальная лексика данной сферы представляет собой сложную концептуальную систему и может быть рассмотрена в рамках разрабатываемой для нее структуры многоаспектных классификаций, учитывающих происхождение и функционирование театральных терминов. Деление слов на тематические группы связано с описанием разных аспектов организации театральной деятельности. В результате проведенного исследования выяснено, что самыми многочисленными и наиболее активно пополняемыми тематическими группами театральной терминологии являются названия светового и звукового оборудования, используемого в процессе постановки спектакля; названия декораций и технических приспособлений и приемов; названия устройства сцены; названия работников театра; названия видов театральных представлений и частей спектакля (перечислены в порядке уменьшения количества терминов, составляющих группу). Предполагается, что на появление новых терминов влияют экстралингвистические факторы.
