Осмысление опыта первой мировой войны: европейская традиция в восприятии современных российских студентов

Abstract

The knowledge of the European traditions of memory by the example of topics related to the First World War among the students specialising in "Foreign Regional Studies" and "Oriental Studies". The author comes from the fact that one of the objectives of the educational process is the formation of the students informed and definite relation to the 100 years ago events and to the war in general. The results of the analysis of the tests carried out by the students which were devoted to the causes, the participants, the main military and diplomatic events of the war, to its fundamental differences from previous conflicts and to its consequences, indicate that students have difficulties in understanding the events of those years. In this regard, the students were asked to undertake a study "The First World War in the historical memory of Europeans and the inhabitants of the East", which implies the analysis of materials on how Europeans treated the World War I and how they perceive it today. The museum archives, reports in the press, and so on may be the sources of the study. The students are advised to refer to the history of the memorial and awards, to the comprehension of the known facts of honouring the war heroes in different European countries. The students’ essays which are analysed in the article gave an account of the results of the study

Анализируется опыт знакомства студентов, обучающихся по направлениям подготовки «Зарубежное регионоведение» и «Востоковедение», с европейскими традициями памяти на примере освоения тем, посвященных Первой мировой войне. Автор исходит из того, что одной из воспитательных задач образовательного процесса является формирование у учащихся осознанного и определенного отношения к событиям 100-летней давности и к войне в целом. Результаты анализа выполненных студентами контрольных работ, посвященных причинам, участникам, основным военным и дипломатическим событиям войны, ее принципиальным отличиям от предшествующих конфликтов и последствиям, свидетельствуют о том, что студенты испытывают трудности в понимании событий тех лет. В связи с этим студентам было предложено провести исследование «Первая мировая война в исторической памяти европейцев и жителей Востока», предполагающее анализ материалов о том, как европейцы относились к Первой мировой войне и как они воспринимают ее сегодня. Источниками изучения могут выступать музейные архивы, сообщения в прессе и т. д. Студентам рекомендуется обратиться к истории создания мемориальных комплексов и наград, к осмыслению известных фактов чествования героев войны в разных странах Европы.
