| Abstract: | The article presents diverse modifications of the novelistic genre as designated by the authors themselves. It highlights a tendency toward cycle formation and genre hybridization. Three potential ways of transforming the novel's generic model are adduced: broadening the bounds of the genre by means of intermediality; narrowing down the semantic field; and exploiting old forms (in fiction). |
