Linguopolitical Personology as a Scientific Trend

Abstract

The paper investigates some methodology issues of linguopolitical personology, a relatively new field of linguistics that studies the phenomenon of professional linguistic personality in the political shere. The specificity of linguopolitical personology in the row of allied disciplines has been revealed, the object and the subject matter have been characterized, the basic terminology has been specified. An analitical overview of recent papers dedicated to politicians' speech study also enables the authors to determine the main aspects of analysis and leading methodological approaches in modern linguopolitical personology.
