Abstract: | This study will consider the effect of a circularly polarized electromagnetic field on ?- decay of a neutron for values of the parameter e a/m ? 1 and e a/m ? 1, where e and m are the charge and mass of the electron; and a is the amplitude of the field potential. Within the framework of the V=A variant of the weak interaction theory, in the first-order perturbation theory, it is shown that with increase in field intensity the probability of neutron decay increases. The energy distributions of the electrons generated are calculated for e a/m = 0.5 and e a/m=1, and the results obtained are evaluated. © 1975 Plenum Publishing Corporation. |
