Abstract: The initial stage of the decomposition of a nanocrystalline solid solution under the action of a flux of nonequilibrium vacancies induced by severe plastic deformation is considered theoretically. A solution to the nonlinear diffusion problem of the formation of a decomposition zone is found within the framework of the model of a nonideal solid solution and using the method of splicing asymptotic expansions. Optimum conditions for the decomposition effect are derived and analyzed.
